Unitronics I/O Expansion Modules

Unitronics OPLC's can support IO either directly on board, via local expansion units or via a CANbus network (not M90/M91). The following IO modules can be used as either local or remote IO, they all DIN rail mount and will need an expansion adaptor to connect to the OPLC. Expansion adaptors come in three different variants and you need choose only one of them for each OPLC. The EX-A1 or EX-A2 adaptor is a stand alone expansion adaptor which connects to the OPLC via a CAT5 cable and to a further eight IO modules via ribbon cable. In all three cases these cables are included with the modules where required. The EX-RC1 adaptor is a stand alone network adaptor that connects to up to eight IO modules via ribbon cables but then connects to the master OPLC on a CANbus network. The CANbus cable is user supplied. The EX-XL IO modules which are expansion units with an integral adaptor and connect to the OPLC via a CAT5 cable then up to seven more IO modules via ribbon cable. If required the OPLC may be expanded via both local and remote IO (M90/91 via local only) up to the IO limit of the particular OPLC model, see user guides. Only one local expansion adaptor may be used with up to eight extra modules (seven if the integral EX-XL module is used). Further IO expansion, up to the IO limit, must then be made via CANbus.
